In our work supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, it is important that we have a good working relationship with parents, carers and families to make sure we are all working towards the same goals for our students.
We support parents and carers by:
- Hosting regular parents/carers evenings to discuss service changes and consult parents/carers. Students are also able to attend these sessions.
- Sending monthly letters to update parents on operational matters and new projects such as our Pop up shop and term dates.
- Each student has a Keyworker who is responsible for supporting their key students to meet their goals. This can also means supporting our students and their parents/carers to have conversations with their wider support network to make sure they get the support they need.
- We take part in social work reviews supporting students and their parents/carers to voice any concerns and demonstrate progress.
