In our work supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, it is important that we have a good working relationship with parents, carers and families to make sure we are all working towards the same goals for our students.
We support parents and carers by:
Hosting regular parents/carers evenings to discuss service changes and consult parents/carers. Students are also able to attend these sessions.
Sending monthly letters to update parents on operational matters and new projects such as our Pop up shop and term dates.
Each student has a Keyworker who is responsible for supporting their key students to meet their goals. This can also means supporting our students and their parents/carers to have conversations with their wider support network to make sure they get the support they need.
We take part in social work reviews supporting students and their parents/carers to voice any concerns and demonstrate progress.
