At PiP, our Employment Co-ordinator is responsible for cultivating relationships with local businesses and corporate partners to offer innovative 1-1 experiences for PiP students such as virtual workplace visits and work experience.
Our Employment Co-ordinator also works closely with our training partners such as Petit Miracles, who teach ‘up-cycling’ and furniture restoration skills to support adults into work.
We also offer 1:1 personalised employment support alongside practical training and learning sessions, hands-on Fruitful pop-ups and partner with other local vocational training provider – all to help students to develop workplace skills and competencies.
We offer weekly group sessions and opportunities to enhance workplace skills and gain confidence.
We work with local business and organisations to:
- Design and deliver work experience placements
- Provide careers talks and Q&A so our students can find out more about the world of work
- Create workplace visits and Taster Days for students
- Carry out mock interviews with our students to get them work ready
- Support businesses to make reasonable adjustments or ‘job carve’ to create the right role for a candidate with learning disabilities
- Support our students to job shadow and learn new tasks and responsibilities
- Practice what we preach by employing adults with learning disabilities as PiP receptionists, Fruitful trainees and Student Representatives.
Contact our Employment Co-ordinator to work with us to support more people with learning disabilities into work.
