Wipro, long time corporate partners to PiP, have donated £4,000 towards a new Immersive Digital Sensory Space at our new centre, due to open this Autumn/Winter.
The donation helps PiP to move one step closer to funding the space and will help us find match funders towards the overall cost of the immersive space.
The Digital Immersive Space will enable the blended teaching of Independent Living Skills such as travel training and advocacy, as well as supporting the wider sensory needs of students with complex needs.
Our immersive space will transform into a beach, castle, bustling train station – whatever location students want and need to simulate to become more comfortable with to aid community integration and independent living and travel skills. For example, we will be able to provide realistic training opportunities for students wanting to progress into employment by creating virtual scenarios to help them navigate a journey or a workplace or a customer interaction and build up resilience in a safe environment if things don’t go according to plan.
In addition, by creating unique mindful spaces with immersive tech, adults with complex needs will learn to better manage their own mental health, regulate their behaviour and feelings and gain improved focus and learning outcomes.
Kishan Changlani, CSR Head Wipro UK & Ireland said, “We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with PiP to supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to achieve their potential and move towards independence in the city of London. We see the Digital Immersive Space as a socially impactful initiative leveraging technological innovation to solve real-world health problems. I thank everyone associated who contributed to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives”.
Thank you so much Wipro!
