Three easy ways to work with PiP
#Goodforyougoodforme
Increasing diversity is a win for organisations and individuals.
Work with PiP to host Fruitful, our pop up juice social enterprise, giving your staff healthy juices and opportunities to get to know people with learning disabilities and giving our students much-needed and valued work experience.
Skill Sharing
There is much you can teach our students but much they can share with you too. Come along to our interactive (and very fun) monthly virtual Makaton sessions to learn from our students about how to improve your communication skills. Or, we can deliver awareness webinars to your staff so you hear directly from our students what it’s like to live with a learning disability and about their hopes and dreams.
In the workplace
Share your skills with our students by hosting workplace visits, providing talks about different jobs and helping break down barriers about learning disabilities and autism in the workplace.
You can also volunteer to support our group Employment sessions or our 1:1 job coaching to support adults with learning disabilities into training and paid employment.
PiP Partnerships: Bowmark Capital
Bowmark Capital really stepped up their support of PiP in 2019 as Bowmark sponsored Fruitful for a whole year for £72,000. This meant that we could deliver over 100 Fruitful sessions at PiP, support 12 Fruitful Trainees to work towards an ASDAN qualification in Enterprise/Work Skills and help PiP with strategic marketing and branding support too.
As lockdown hit, Fruitful pop-ups were unfortunately cancelled. PiP and Bowmark continued to work together with volunteers supporting Employment Group; it’s so important our students emerge from this time with strong communication and interpersonal skills to help them in a challenging job market.
We were delighted that sponsorship continued in 2021; enabling us to purchase an Orange Juice Machine, a Smoothie Bike and to be able to pay Fruitful Trainees who have graduated from the programme for their shifts. We’re also working more closely together on strategic planning. Thanks to Bowmark Fruitful and PiP go from strength to strength.
