Refer to PiP

This page is for you if you are a social worker, local authority commissioner or parent/carer and would like to refer an adult with learning disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders to PiP

PiP provides learning and development services for adults with learning disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism aged 18 years old and over.

Our services are person-centred – this means that our teaching and support is personalised to each unique person we work with.

Our learning and development sessions empower our students to work towards independence so they can live a life of their choice.

We are open for new students and are welcoming referrals for start dates from January 2024.

Feedback from our students' support networks

Working together as a support network is vital to our success. Here is some of the feedback we've had from parents/carers, local authority commissioners, supported living providers and social workers about the quality of our work and staff.

Marta (Development Worker) was praised for her role in supporting a key student during a hospitalisation earlier this year. This incident led to the student moving into supported living. They were particularly appreciative of Marta’s quick response to seek medical help during the initial medical event, and also the quality of the handover resources she produced to ensure the students move into supported living was smooth. Westminster Learning Disability Pathway Team Leader Ton Fitjen described this as “one of the best accessible documents I have seen.”

Westminster Learning Disability team also commended Jordan (Deputy Manager) for the support he provided to his key student and his family when his mother and sole-carer was hospitalised. Jordan ensured our student had access to his home, finances and family network during the time his mother was unable to care for him.

During a recent review, the father of a student expressed to their social worker that their lives would not be the same without PiP. He commented that his son, who is in his late 30s, is still
learning and gaining new skills and experiences, and that he has a huge amount of compassion for people who do not have access to a service like ours.

A manager at the residential service where some of our older students live thanked our team after a recent session, saying that it’s the highlight of the student’s week and it’s all they talk about when they’re not with us.
